Local Planning Authorities (LPA's) are now requesting that Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) conforming to BS5837:2005 (Trees in Relation to Construction) are submitted as part of planning applications. Arbconsultants appreciates all of the issues relating to the significance of trees on development sites that will impinge on a planning application. We can facilitate the process to ensure that from an early stage the arboricultural implications of the development are dealt with proficiently and enable developers to make the best use of the land resources at their disposal. We can work with both the development team and by cultivating a professional working relationship with the Local Authority Planners our comprehensive input during the early stages of the development process can bring about innovative design solutions that smooth the progress of the planning application.

• Preliminary Pre-Purchase Development Site Arboricultural and Landscape Report:- informing the developer of Arboricultural constraints and landscape opportunities that may affect land purchase.

• Arboricultural Impact Assessments:- Arbconsultants can provide surveys and reports with reference to BS5837:2005 'Trees in Relation to Construction' Recommendations, Building Research Establishment digests (B.R.E.), National House building Council guidelines (NHBC) National Joint Utility Group booklet (NJUG 10) that assists the developer in producing the optimal site layout whilst fulfilling the requirements of the Local Planning Authority.

• Method Statements:- To ensure retained trees are not damage the method statements will provide methods of work, details of protective fencing and site supervision. The method statement will establish lines of communication between the Local Authority, Arbconsultants and the Developer.

• Site Supervision:- During works on site Arbconsultants will co-ordinate and supervise all tree works.
